New ransomware spotted impersonating google chrome.

We see quite a few PC’s come in locked down with ransom-ware. If you find yourself infected with ransom-ware, it is usually too late to save anything. The only way to ensure you are protected is to keep backups of your data, separate from your PC. The majority of antivirus software will catch most ransom-ware, but with new types being discovered quite frequently, you can never be sure. With that being said, be sure to keep an eye out for this new threat that can be found trying to impersonate google chrome. It can be picked up through existing infections, drive by download, infected email attachments, and malicious websites.
